Hi,

I would like to know how I can filter visitors (for example) based on multiple session values.

For example, I want to see all visitors with custom session values zipCode=97006 AND startMonth=January.

I know I can add &custom[zipCode]=97006&custom[startMonth]=January to the visitors page url but that will show all visitors having either of those fields matching.

The above gives me zip match OR month match. I want visitors where zip AND month match.

Thanks for any help.

Integrate with CRM?

Here is the integration I would like to do, is this possible with getclicky (via the on-page javascript or api or other?)

Capture the following for a user that completes a goals/hits a page link:

1. location and domain of user
2. the referrer (ie: if from google, the search terms)
3. date/timestamp info
4. the email address which was entered into the webpage form

and pass that information to another application via a webhook, email, etc?

Right now the goal alerts are very limited to just sending a email link back to getclicky, can I capture info from the goal and pass as a webhook to integrate with my CRM?

I suspect this would require some API work, any tips on how to pull it all together (ie how to get the info from the on-page js code, what APIs to pull, etc)

Can someone explain what is meaning of this Trend? And how I can transform this: 29 in -11%?

How can I set up a goal that track sign-ups to my newsletter?

The problem is, there is no redirection to a "thank-you" page which I could have defined as a landing page. I redirect new sign-ups to the sales letter.

And when I enter this one as the landing page, I get completed goals for everyone that visits the page (without necessarily going through the sign-up before that).

What can I do?

I've been testing for the past couple of hours and it appears that Outgoing links are not being tracked. I noticed this when I placed some Commission Junction ads on my site. They didn't register, so I started looking at my Amazon ads that I've been running for years. Amazon is not showing up.

My recent Outgoing stats to Amazon have been poor, but I thought my book sales had just fallen off a cliff. It may not sound like much, but I make about $6 per thousand uniques on book sales -- and that adds up to almost $2,000 a year.

I noticed this when working on my personal site that I have just converted from TypePad to WordPress. I thought it might be a problem with WP, but I tested the same code on a TypePad site and GetClicky showed no Outgoing link.

I understand and accept the rationale for stopping pinging for free accounts, as it was laid out some months back. Don't love it but accept it. But one consequence I believe I have been noticing is that page visits are being inflated. What I am noticing a lot that I think stems from the cessation of pinging is that when people spend a certain amount of time on one page of my site (I'm not sure what the cut-off point is), then move to a new page, it's being logged as a new "Direct" visit to that new page. I know I'm seeing a lot of consecutive "visits" by the same visitor (to different pages) separated by , say, 15 minutes that I didn't used to see. My pages are text-heavy so it isn't unusual for people to spend a fair amount of time on one page before moving on. Maybe I have this all wrong, but if I don't, then I think some solution would be nice.

Path Analysis results not consistent with page actions

I hope I am using the term "page actions" correctly. I interpret this to be equivalent to page views. In any event, I have created a few path analysis paths, using page values from some working goals. However, the results do not match. For example, I created a path analysis of the checkout path using urls from goals that I had created for each step in the checkout path. The goals log the customer actions but the path analysis does not. Selecting one completed customer order the path analysis does not show any actions beyond the first page in he path.
Also, the path analysis numbers do not match the page actions, or at least not consistently. I compared the visits to the first page in a path with the views of that page for a given day and in some cases there were no visits but the path analysis showed several, and in other cases there were several visits but the path analysis showed none. There are also instances where they both show some but the numbers do not match. It seems that things are not working right or I have it mis-configured, but I am not sure which. Is there any way to view the details behind each page in the path directly through the path analysis interface?
Any help or advice is much appreciated. I have several more sites, along with a significant increase in pages that I want to add to clicky but am reluctant to do so until I get a better handle on some of these functions, and the path analysis is a critical one.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have recently installed getclicky on two sites which also have statcounter installed on them.

Statcounter has been running on each site for quite some time and seems very stable.

I recently installed getclicky (within the last few weeks) because I like the interface and want more data for comparison.

However, in comparing getclicky visitor totals to statcounter visitor totals, I am observing some discrepencies that are making me question whether there is an issue with my getclicky installation on one of the sites.

Site1 over the last 7 days shows the following:
statcounter: 349 unique visitors
getclicky: 316 unique visitors

approximately 90% of the statcounter total being counted by getclicky, but still some difference between the two packages.

Site2 over the last 6 days (just installed get clicky prior) shows the following:
statcounter: 367 unique visitors
getclicky: 294 unique visitors

approximately 80% of the statcounter total being calculated by getclicky.

Both sites are running on wordpress and have getclicky's code installed using Joost de Valk's "Clicky for WordPress" plugin.

I would like to better understand why these discrepencies might be occurring and whether I have an installation issue or something else. Obviously, the differing 'difference' between the two packages on the two sites is what is most confusing.

I appreciate your insight. Please advise.

It would be useful to have the graphs scale such that a single day's spike of activity doesn't render long term graphs useless in tracking trends.

For example, a site with a slight upward daily usage trend with, say, around 100 visits per day, gets a spike of 2600 visits on one day. Now any graph which includes the spike makes it impossible to see any trends in the "normal" data as the left hand scale becomes something like 0, 700, 1400, 2100, 2800 and the normal days are a squiggle down below 700. A better left hand scale might be 0, 50, 100, 500, 1500, 3000 which would allow the normal trends to be seen along with the spike. Of course this doesn't help if there are multiple spikes.

Are there any plans for the addition of support for multiple dynamic goals on one page?

At the moment I am split testing pages and this is working perfectly. However it would be nice to be able to see the conversion rates for multiple goals on the page, e.g. clicked a button or on a mouseover event for a youtube clip on the page. I tried adding two different goals to the page (with different split test names) but realised this caused a single visitor to only log in one of the split tests, and if using two different goals in the same split test they just come up as conversions with no way of seeing the exact %'s for each split test variation.

If each goal name was segregated on the split tests page such as:

Split test name
     |Split test variation| |Total Visitors| |Total Conversions|
          - Goal 1 name %visitors completing goal 1
          - Goal 2 name %visitors completing goal 2

That way one could see if a specific action, e.g. a user watching a video, had a big influence on some call to action conversion rate.

I cannot seem to get spy to load for airsoftfix.com. Firebug shows me 2 GET requests that are being cancelled by something and spy just sits there spinning its wheels and never updates.

I had it working for a few hours in Safari yesterday, and now it does not work.

The 2 requests are:
https://secure.getclicky.com/ajax/spy-alert-toggle?site_id=[My site ID goes here]&force_pref=0&x=0.08150828543211375

https://secure.getclicky.com/ajax/spy?site_id=[My site ID goes here]&unixtime=0&timeout=130&hourly_24=0&x=0.5551477765893564

If I manually re-send the requests using Firebug, they immediately self-cancel again.

I have tried completely clearing all cache/sessions/everything and the problem still persists.

I also tried one of my other sites on my account and it has the same exact issue.

There have been some inquiries in the past about how to block one's own IP address, and no good answers about how to do this for a dynamic (changing) IP address. Here are a few things that could work, for consideration in the long run.

1. Block by domain, if the user has set up dynamic DNS. (Adds a DNS resolution step, possibly slowing down Clicky's data collection.)

2. Allow the user to delete an IP address. So if our IP address has changed, we would simply click on it somewhere in Clicky's reports, and ask Clicky to remove recent entries for that IP address. Possibly at the same time optionally add a filter.

3. Autodetect the user's external IP address and add a filter. This would be really convenient. On going into preferences and filters, we would see a button "filter current external IP address". On clicking this button, Clicky on the server side would detect the user's external IP address, and format an exclusion filter and present it for confirmation. When the user clicks OK, the filter would be added.

4. Like 3, but happens automatically whenever the user logs into Clicky.

When Quickview pops up I suggest you dim the page background as with a traditional lightbox / shadowbox etc. That is an important que that you are in Quickview mode instead of looking at the regular visitor detail screen. Without that que it is too easy to forget and just click the back button on your mouse. You end up on a page you hadn't intended AND the browser gets confused. The Visitor tab is still highlighted while an entirely different page is displayed.

This is even more important for we who have used Clicky for some time. The habit if clicking the actions link, then hitting the back mouse button to return to the visitors page is too well ingrained.

Based on my experience the programming change is pretty trivial and there is no downside. So.... Please?

There seems to be a priority issue with Unique ID tags. It is helpful and possible to have both user and IP tagged, but IP takes precedence over user in the listings. It should be the other way around.

For instance say you have a company who's IP only resolves to the ISP name. I want to tag that IP with the company name. Say I tag a user at that company with his/her name. I would expect that if the tagged user appears on the site their name would be listed, if someone else from the company visits our site I want the company name to appear. Currently the company name always appears even if the users unique ID is tagged.

Could you please change the listing algorithm so that if(user && IP) {display user}
Easy way to do that, scan UIDs before IPs. Stop and display result with the first match.

Thanks,

I embed youtube videos and present them as posts on my site.Clicky is tracking the hits for the posts but not tracking the hits for the videos. I mean if someone lands on the post page and then clicks to play the video, the latter isn't recorded. How can I make sure I can record this activity too?

Please make note that the videos that I embed are coming from external sources and not recorded by myself so will the video tracking available in get clicky be of any help?

Clicky causing Tumblr pages to have trouble loading?

I don't have any concrete evidence, just a suspicion, that Clicky might be causing my Tumblr sites to have trouble loading. I know Tumblr has its own trouble with uptime sometimes, but this seems weird, and it happens when no one else is having trouble, so I'm just going through the process of elimination. Here's my setup:

I have a few Tumblr sites all run on subdomains like so:

mac.finerthingsin.com
ios.finerthingsin.com

I'm using a premium theme on both of them called Calidor, you can find it here:

http://calidor.stylehatch.co/

This theme provides built-in support for Clicky; all you have to do is enter your site ID, not paste code in a specific place or any of that.

Every now and then pages on these sites refuse to load for anywhere from a few seconds to over 5-10 minutes—I get a 'server unexpectedly closed the connection' error. Sometimes when it happens I see some kind of a token get added to the URL that looks like ?=81934902. I have no idea what that is, but could it be a Clicky tracking token?

Has anyone else seen this trouble? Or do you have insight into what else could be going on? Again, yes I know Tumblr has its growth problems, and I'm looking at alternatives. Just curious on what's up, thanks!

Because I just installed it, I wanted to check if it worked, so I did, but now those stats are stored, even if I check the "don't count this IP" box, it still remembers my "I need to check if this works action"

Of course I could start all over again, but I don't even know if I can use the same login name etc, immediatly.

So maybe this shouldn't be question, but a suggestion. Please make it possible to reset the stats (or just do so for paid accounts (and with that the trial period of the free accounts)

Am a novice user of Clicky so please excuse this question if it has an obvious answer.

We have two websites in our Clicky account. One has few visitors but has a link across to our other, main, site. We know from Google Analytics that well over a hundred visitors have come to the main site from the minor site in the last 2 months, but there is no mention of any visitors following the link to our minor site in the Clicky Links report for the major site. Could this be because Clicky sees the two sites as connected anyway, as both are in our one account? If so is there any way of overriding that?

Any help gratefully received. We don't want to have to rely on Google Analytics for this info !

I use it on a page with an ajax reload so I can sort of spot a spike...

It looks at the hourly stats from the API then searches for the largest figure, displaying it, and the hour in which it occurred.

Which on its own is useful for an overview
The link it sends back will send you to the array directly
